Earth Day 2023

Earth Day is a global event held every year on April 22. It was started in 1970 by U.S Senator Gaylord Nelson, who wanted to bring attention to environmental issues and encourage people to take action against them. Since then, Earth Day has grown into one of the largest celebrations of our planet's health and well-being; over 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities each year!

Earth Day is a time to celebrate the environment and find solutions to some of our biggest environmental problems. It's also a day to reflect on how far we've come in protecting our planet, and what more we can do in the future. One way you can be a part of the solution, and a way that the Friends helps to positively impact our environment, is to use reusable products! When you use reusable products instead of disposable ones--you'll reduce waste while saving money! Plus if something is no longer of use or entertainment to you (like an old book), donate it rather than throwing it away--someone else could put it to good use!

The planet needs us now more than ever before. We must recognize that everyone has a role to play in protecting the environment and finding solutions for climate change. Together we can make a difference!
